I was recently spotted at the inaugural Top 25 Madison County Leadership Awards. Shockingly, I wasn’t there to cover the event for the paper. Instead, I got to eat free food and mingle as a recipient.
According to organizers, I was nominated for my nonprofit work, which includes serving on boards and establishing Room in the Inn - Berea, which paved the way for Room in the Inn in Richmond, which became Madison Home.
Additional praise went to my people-first reporting at the Richmond Register, where I have highlighted causes and people who may not always get front page coverage.
It is a privilege to report on the diverse range of events that shape our community, from moments of joy to issues of great importance. I look forward to continuing to provide fair and balanced coverage while highlighting good work around Madison County.
I am very thankful to be recognized by the community I love so much.
